In Honor of Our Veterans

We honor our veterans today. My dad was a very proud veteran, as were most, if not all, of our dads. He helped create the monument you see at the bottom, which is in Sturges.

If you have not done so yet, be sure to place your veteran's name in the World War II registry. The site is at http://www.wwiimemorial.com/default.asp?page=home.asp , look at the links to add a name to the registry. They will verify the information and include it, and then you can find their names in the official World War II registry. You can find the honoree Robert Joseph Konkol here: http://www.wwiimemorial.com/registry/search/pframe.asp?HonoreeID=1459167&popcount=2&tcount=2

What a coincidence that you posted your dad's service activity now. Just this past Sunday, my mother was talking about Dad's and Uncle Bob's WWII service. I asked what Uncle Bob did but she didn't know specifically, only generally. The only thing she knew was that although both of our fathers were in the Army Air Force, your father was on airplanes but mine wasn't. Now I know! Thanks for the timely information!

I need to get my Dad registered. I also need to take him to the memorial. The father of one of Stacy's friends volunteers there on Saturdays. He loves to talk about the war, and I know my dad would enjoy it.
