George and Anna Evanko raised their family of 8 children in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. Thirteen children were born, but only 8 survived to become adults. The 8 surviving children produced 22 descendants. From those 22 descendants, the next generation includes 32 children. The newest generation has begun, with the birth of "9" children so far.

Thanks for these pictures. That was such a fun time. I don't think an event like that could ever be reproduced today. It's interesting to reflect on it now. We kids had a ball playing in the jails and the stocks while mingling with the adults who were acting silly and also having a ball. Of course, we now know that they were acting silly because the block party took place right next to Igoe's and there were several other "beer gardens" not far away. But I don't remember anything bad happening (could be because we kids got home before things really got rowdy); I just remember it as a really good time. I still have the memorial wooden nickel stashed away somewhere.

Do you remember when my dad and Uncle Eddie tried to race up "the big hill"? Hahaha, I do.
